7 Days / 6 Nights - Lima, Cuzco, Sacred Valley and Machu Picchu

Day 1: Arrive Lima

Upon arrival in Lima, you will be picked up and taken to your hotel. Overnight at hotel.

Day 2: Lima - City tour: Colonial & Contemporary Lima

The tour begins with a visit to historic downtown Lima, also known as “the City of the Kings”. Stops include the Main Square of Lima, upon which sits the Government Palace, the Cathedral, the Archbishop’s Palace, and the City Hall; next on the itinerary is a visit to the Santo Domingo Convent. Later visit the modern district of San Isidro where you will have a tour of Huaca Huallamarca, a Pre-Incan adobe pyramid. At the end of your tour visit Miraflores, a district filled with tourist attractions, and stop at the “Parque del Amor” (a lover’s lane) and enjoy its incredible views of the Pacific Ocean. Overnight at the hotel. (B)

Day 3: Lima - Cuzco by flight

Cuzco - Sacred Valley drive

At your schedule time transfer to the airport to board the flight to Cuzco city. Upon arrival in Cuzco you will be transferred to the Sacred Valley of the Incas. Sacred Valley allows better acclimatization for its lower altitude compare to Cuzco city. Rest of the day at leisure to rest and get use to the altitude. Overnight at the hotel. (B)

Day 4: Sacred Valley - The Authentic valley tour

Discover the best of the Sacred Valley of the Incas through this route starting on the Inca's Balcony, a beautiful terrace with an impressive view of Chinchero, where twelve families still preserve their traditional costumes, showing you the ancestral way in which they process the wool, and obtain those vivid colors for their textiles. Later visit Ollantaytambo, one of the most monumental architectural complexes of the ancient Inca Empire, one of the few places where the Spanish conquistadors lost a major battle. Very well known for its “Andenes” (terraces dug into the slopes of mountains for agricultural purposes), Ollantaytambo was a highly effective fortress, which also served as a temple. Proceed to the town of Ollantaytambo, “the unique living Inca town”: the best surviving example of Inca city planning, with narrow cobblestone streets that have been continuously inhabited since the 13th century. Day 5: Sacred Valley - Aguas Calientes (Machu Picchu) - Cuzco by train

You are going to visit one of the most important energy centers of the world: Machu Picchu. You will travel by train to the town of Aguas Calientes, an experience in which you will see the striking scenery of the Sacred Valley. Upon your arrival, you will be driven by bus to the archeological site, the visit of which will be an unforgettable experience, with a professional tour guide to impart to you all the history that surrounds this mysterious and enchanting place. Once the guided tour is over, you will have some free time to explore the site on your own, to relax, or to meditate. Later you will descend to Aguas Calientes for lunch and board the train that afternoon for Ollantaytambo or Poroy Station. Upon arrival, you will be transferred to your hotel in Cuzco. Overnight at the hotel. (BL)

Day 6: Cuzco

Day at leisure. Enjoy the charm of this beautiful colonial city that was built upon the remains of amazing Inca buildings. Not to miss: Temple of the Sun (Koricancha), San Blas artisans neighborhood, the Cathedral and the Inca Fortress of Sacsayhuaman. Overnight at the hotel. (B)

Optional excursion city tour, Sacsayhuaman, and nearby Archeological sites (Shared basis) $114.00 per person

Day 7: Cuzco - Lima by flight

Depart Lima

At a scheduled time, you will be transferred to the airport for your flight back home. (B)
